The Coleman FFA Parent-Member Banquet was held Monday, May 7, 2012. Awards received at the 2012 FFA Banquet were: Star Greenhand Award-Shelbi Greaves, Star Chapter Farmer-Chanie Barker, Honorary FFA Degree-Barbara Cox, Top Hand Awards-Zayne Riggins and Sarah Wickson. The new 2012-2013 FFA Officer Team is: President-Sarah Wickson, Vice President-Jansen Merrill, Secretary-Coco Smith, Treasurer-Jayce Simmons, Reporter-Kaylee Needham, Sentinel-Autum White, and Parliamentarian-Ginny Pannell. There were 75 members and guests present. Pictured are Sarah Wickson and Chanie Barker.
Winning second place in their STAR event were Samantha Martin and Jacey Pannell in Life Event Planning Junior. They researched comparison shopping on prom costs and developed a slide show and portfolio. They competed against 11 teams.
Coleman FFA was well represented the Big Country District FFA Degree Check on Monday, April 30, 2012.
Sarah Wickson of Coleman FFA was nominated to serve as Big Country District First Vice President for the 2012-2013 school year. Miranda Slone competed in Senior Prepared Public Speaking and placed 2nd. She will advance to the Area IV Contest that will be held in Mineral Wells on May 12th. Autum White competed in Extemporaneous Speaking and placed 4th. Pictured from left to right are Autum White, Sarah Wickson, and Miranda Slone.
